Board and Stable Pro Terms of Service
Effective date: Oct. 30, 2026
The short version. This summary is here to help. The full terms below are what apply.
- Your first 45 days are free. No $5 horse fee and no 0.5% fee apply to them. The clock starts the first time you log care (checking off a feeding counts), add a care photo, complete a task, send an invoice or mark one paid, create a Quick Pay payment link, upload or request a document, or log training on or after Sept. 29, 2026, whether or not it involves a horse. Once they start, the 45 days run on the calendar, whether or not you use Pro. Signing up, setting up your barn (including care routines and feed plans), anything we set up for you and documents your horse owners upload do not start it.
- We'll set up your whole barn for you at no charge from the records you send us. Just ask.
- Starting Nov. 1, 2026, after your free period: $5 per horse you care for and $5 per client you train, each month, never more than $200 per barn. A horse counts in a month only if, that month, you check off care for it (a feeding counts), log care for it, add a care photo, or upload or request a document for it. Setting up routines, feed plans, training plans and your schedule never makes a horse or client count, and neither does invoicing. The $5 is not prorated, even in the month your free period ends.
- Training is per client. A client counts in a month when you log a training session for them, on their own horse, a lesson horse or no horse. Lessons on your schedule without a write-up don't count. A horse that gets care and a client who trains on it count separately.
- Online payments carry 0.5% of what is paid, taken from the payment, except for lines for a horse that had care in the 30 days before the payment, and lesson lines for a client who had training logged in those 30 days. Everything on a horse's line is covered, hauling and tack included. A line with no horse, and a payment link with no horse picked, carries it. Cash and check carry nothing. A full refund returns it. If a horse's payment came before its care and the horse counts later that month, we credit that fee against your bill. Event entries collected through Pro carry 0.5% from Nov. 1, 2026.
- Card and bank payments carry Stripe's processing fees. Those go to Stripe, not to us.
- Online payments started before Nov. 1, 2026 carry a 2% platform fee (0.5% on Quick Pay links), including during your free period. It ends at 12:00 a.m. Eastern time on Nov. 1.
- From day 46, add a card or bank account to keep using paid features. We'll remind you on days 30, 40, 44 and 45. From Nov. 1 you can see your running bill (your running statement) in Settings. Each month closes on the 1st, and we then charge for the month before, only for what your running bill showed. Your first charge is no earlier than Dec. 1, 2026. A bank account is charged no earlier than 10 days after we email you the closed statement.
- No payment method? Paid features pause, including texts. Your records are never locked. Your listing, barn setup, My Horse and in-app messaging keep working, and boarders can still pay invoices you already sent. A charge that stays unpaid for 14 days pauses paid features the same way.
- My Horse is on by default. Your horse owners can see the care you log for their horses and, where they're turned on, the horse's feed plan and a button to message you. For new barns, the feed plan and the message button are on by default too. To turn any of these off, email hello@boardandstable.com.
- You own your barn's data. We never use your barn's records to market to your boarders. Care photos are deleted after 60 days. The care log itself stays.
- Price changes come with at least 30 days' notice by email and in Pro.
- Logged something on the wrong horse? Tell us within 30 days of the charge and we'll remove it.
- Outside the United States? We don't charge barns outside the United States for Pro, so the free period, fees and payment-method steps above don't apply to you. Online payments and text messages aren't available there (section 15).
These terms are a contract between you and Spur7 LLC, a Colorado limited liability company doing business as Board and Stable ("Board and Stable," "we," "us" or "our"). They govern your use of Board and Stable Pro, the barn management service at pro.boardandstable.com, including its staff app, the pages it provides to your boarders and customers, and the texts and emails it sends for you (together, the "Service"). Schedule A (the Fee Schedule) is part of these terms.
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information and is available at www.boardandstable.com/privacy. Use of the public Board and Stable directory at www.boardandstable.com, and of the pages your boarders and customers use, is also governed by the Board and Stable Terms of Service at www.boardandstable.com/terms.
1. Accepting these terms
1.1 How you accept. You accept these terms by checking the box and continuing when the Service asks you to. The Service asks:
- the next time you use Pro after this version takes effect;
- when you create a Pro account, or, for a Pro account created when you claimed a listing, the first time you use it; and
- again when you add a payment method for your Facility, so that no one is charged without a recorded acceptance.
1.2 What we record. Each acceptance is recorded with the version of these terms and a fingerprint of their text, the time, your account, the place in the Service where you accepted, and the network address and browser of the device you used.
1.3 New versions. When we update these terms, we will present the new version to you in the Service with a summary of what changed, and ask you to accept it the next time you use the Service. Fee changes follow section 6.8.
1.4 Authority. If you accept for a business, you confirm that you have authority to bind it. Only an owner of the Facility's account can accept these terms for the Facility, and the payment method acceptance in section 7.3 must be given by an owner. Managers and staff are not asked to accept these terms. They use the Service as your users under section 2. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Service.
2. Who may use the Service
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. "Facility" means the boarding, training or other equine business whose account you operate (your barn), and "you" includes the Facility. Each Pro account belongs to one Facility. If you run more than one Facility, each has its own account. Managers and staff logins you invite are your users, and you are responsible for what they do in your account.
3. Your account
Keep your sign-in credentials private. Boarders, workers and horse owners reach their pages through private links or emailed sign-in codes instead of passwords. Treat the links you send them as credentials. Tell us at once at hello@boardandstable.com if you believe your account has been accessed without permission. We may ask you to verify your identity or your authority over a Facility before restoring access or releasing data.
4. What the Service does, and does not do
The Service is software. It helps you keep horse, owner and staff records, log care and training, assign tasks, invoice and collect payments, share records with horse owners, message owners, sign agreements and send notifications. We are not a party to any agreement between you and your boarders, customers, workers, trainers or vendors. We do not board, care for or train horses. We do not provide legal, accounting, tax, veterinary or safety advice. Templates, checklists, reminders and AI suggestions are conveniences. You decide what to send, sign, charge and do.
5. The free period, and free and paid features
5.1 Your first 45 days are free. Each Facility gets 45 days free. The 45 days start the first time the Facility, on or after Sept. 29, 2026, does any of these, as recorded by our servers: logs care (including checking off a feeding), adds a care photo, completes a task, issues an invoice (sends it, or marks it paid), creates a Quick Pay payment link, uploads or requests a document, or logs training. Any of these starts the clock whether or not it involves a horse; only the activities listed in Schedule A, section A3, make a horse an Active Horse, and issuing an invoice or creating a payment link never does. That day is day 1, in your Facility's time zone, and the free period runs through day 45. The 45 days are calendar days and run whether or not you use the Service. Signing up, setting up your barn (including care routines and feed plans), anything we enter for you at your request (including free onboarding under section 5.2), documents a horse owner uploads through your portal or an onboarding link, and anything done before Sept. 29, 2026 do not start the clock. A Facility that never does any of these never starts its free period.
No feature is withheld because of the free period. Section 9.3 (card fee) and section 15 (Facilities outside the United States) still apply. No fee under Schedule A is charged for anything done during the free period. The 2% platform fee in section 6.2 still applies to online payments started before 12:00 a.m. Eastern time on Nov. 1, 2026, and Stripe's processing fees apply to every online payment (section 6.3).
Once your free period has started, its dates do not change, except that we may extend a Facility's free period.
5.2 Free onboarding. On request, we will set up your barn in the Service at no charge from the records you send us, such as a roster, spreadsheet or photos, once per Facility.
5.3 Features that do not need a payment method. The following do not require a payment method and are not paused under section 7.4:
- your Board and Stable directory listing and managing it, including claiming it, editing your profile, photos and rates, and answering inquiries;
- barn setup: stalls, horses, owners, staff, care routines, feed plans and layout, including entering and editing feed plans;
- viewing everything already recorded in the Service, downloading documents and signed agreements, and getting an export of Your Data (section 13.6);
- in-app messaging between you and your horse owners (in-app messages never generate text messages);
- email care summaries to horse owners, if you turn them on (we may limit their volume to stay within our email provider's limits); and
- the My Horse app for horse owners.
5.4 Paid features. The paid features are care logging, the staff app, completing tasks, care photos, sending invoices and taking online payments, documents, document requests and electronically signed agreements, training logs, and text messages. Using most of these is also what makes a horse an Active Horse under Schedule A. Checking off a feeding, such as an AM feed routine, is a completed care task like any other. Setting up care routines and feed plans is barn setup under section 5.3.
6. Fees
In plain words. This summary is for easy reading. If it differs from the numbered sections or Schedule A, they govern.
What you pay us
- Pro is $5 a month for each horse you give care to, and $5 a month for each client you train, never more than $200 per barn per month. A horse counts in a month when you check off care for it, log care or a care photo for it, or upload or request a document for it. A client counts in a month when you log a training session for them, on any horse or none; a lesson counts once it is written up as a training session. Sending an invoice, or booking or holding a lesson without a write-up, does not make a horse or client count.
- Your first 45 days are free. After they end, a horse that counts is billed for the whole month, even if it counts for only part of it. Your first charge is no earlier than Dec. 1, 2026.
- For each horse, you pay one of two ways. If the horse had care in the 30 days before an online payment, its $5 covers that payment and we charge nothing more, whatever the line is for: board, hauling, tack. If not, that payment carries 0.5% instead. A lesson line carries nothing when the rider had a training session logged in those 30 days.
- If you only use Pro to send invoices and get paid online, there is no $5, just the 0.5%.
- Lines that are not tied to a horse, a payment link with no horse picked, and event entries collected through the Service carry the 0.5% on top. Payments you record as cash or check carry nothing.
- If a payment comes before the horse's care and the horse counts later that month, we credit the 0.5% against your bill at month end. Anything left over is returned to your Stripe account.
What you pay Stripe
- Stripe's card and bank processing costs are Stripe's, not ours. You pay them unless a boarder covers them through your card-fee setting.
- With the card-fee setting on, a boarder who pays by credit card pays Stripe's standard cost on that payment (2.9% plus 30 cents), never more than 3% and never more than your state allows. The boarder sees the fee before paying.
- Debit and prepaid cards never carry a card fee. A boarder paying from a bank account pays no fee, and bank payments are usually the cheapest way for you to be paid.
Autopay
- A boarder who turns on autopay agrees to wording that says whether a credit card fee may be added to the charge. A debit card or bank account never gets one.
- Autopay payments follow the same rules as any other online payment.
6.1 Pricing from Nov. 1, 2026. From Nov. 1, 2026, you will pay the fees in Schedule A for activity and payments after your free period ends:
- Active Horse fee: $5 per Active Horse per Billing Month, for Billing Months beginning on or after Nov. 1, 2026. A horse is an Active Horse in a month with one of the care activities in Schedule A, section A3: care checked off, a care log or care photo, or a document you upload or request for it.
- Active Client fee: $5 per Active Client per Billing Month, for the same Billing Months. A client is an Active Client in a month with a training session logged for them (Schedule A, section A3), whatever horse they ride. Setting up routines, feed plans, training plans or your schedule, holding a lesson without logging a session, and issuing an invoice never make a horse or client active.
- Facility Cap: the Active Horse fee and the Active Client fee together are never more than $200 per Facility per Billing Month.
- Online Payment fee: 0.5% of the amount paid on each Qualifying Payment Line, for online payments whose checkout starts at or after 12:00 a.m. Eastern time on Nov. 1, 2026. It is deducted from the payment in your Stripe account when the payment is made. A line for a horse with a care activity in the 30 days before the payment starts, and a lesson line for a client with a training session logged in those 30 days, carry no Online Payment fee, whatever the line is for. A line with no horse, and a payment link with no horse picked, carry it. Payments you mark as received another way, such as cash or check, never carry it. If a line carried the fee because its horse had no care in those 30 days, and the horse becomes an Active Horse in the same Billing Month (or, for a lesson line, the client becomes an Active Client), we credit that fee under Schedule A, section A11.
- Event fee: 0.5% of event registration and entry payments collected through the Service whose checkout starts at or after 12:00 a.m. Eastern time on Nov. 1, 2026, deducted from the payment.
We never charge a fee under Schedule A for activity or payments before your Facility accepted these terms.
There is no minimum. A Billing Month with no Active Horses, no Active Clients and no online payments costs nothing.
We charge the Active Horse fee and the Active Client fee only for horses and clients that appeared on your running statement in the Service before Month Close. If the Service did not show one, it is not charged.
6.2 The 2% platform fee, ending Nov. 1, 2026. Online payments your boarders and customers make to you through the Service whose checkout was started before 12:00 a.m. Eastern time on Nov. 1, 2026 carry a platform fee of 2% of the payment, calculated before sales tax and any card fee. This includes invoice payments, autopay charges, and event registrations and balances. Quick Pay links carry 0.5% of the payment instead of 2%, from Oct. 27, 2026 until Nov. 1, 2026. A payment whose checkout was started before that time carries the fee even if it completes after it. A payment whose checkout starts at or after that time carries no platform fee. The fee is deducted from the payment in your Stripe account. If a payment is fully refunded, we return the 2% platform fee. On a partial refund or a disputed payment, the 2% platform fee is not returned. Payments whose checkout starts at or after that time carry the Online Payment fee or the Event fee under section 6.1 and Schedule A instead, which we return on a full refund in the same way.
6.3 Processing fees are separate. Card and bank processing fees are charged by our payment processor, Stripe, to you on each payment at your own processing rates. They are not Board and Stable fees and are not affected by these terms or Schedule A.
6.4 Billing in arrears. The Active Horse fee and the Active Client fee are calculated per Billing Month and billed in arrears after Month Close on the 1st of each month for the Billing Month just ended. The Online Payment fee and the Event fee are deducted from each payment when it is made and are not billed again. A credit under Schedule A, section A11 comes off the statement at Month Close, down to $0; anything left over is returned to your Stripe account after Month Close. Once your free period has ended, we will email you each closed statement at Month Close. We charge a card after Month Close. We charge a bank account no earlier than 10 days after we email you the closed statement. No charge under Schedule A is made before Dec. 1, 2026, and the earliest is for November 2026.
6.5 Your running statement. Beginning Nov. 1, 2026, you can see your running statement in the Service at any time before you are charged. It shows which horses are Active Horses and which clients are Active Clients so far this Billing Month and what made each one active, the Online Payment fees taken so far this month and the payment each came from, and your running total. It also shows the Event fees taken and any credit under Schedule A, section A11. At Month Close the statement is frozen and becomes the basis of the Active Horse and Active Client charge. A closed statement is never recomputed, even if the software or Schedule A later changes.
6.6 Promotions. We may issue promotion codes that reduce the Active Horse or Active Client rate by a percentage or a dollar amount for a stated period. A promotion applies only to the Facility and period stated, never reduces a fee below zero, and ends on its stated date without further notice.
6.7 Taxes. Fees do not include taxes. You are responsible for any taxes on our fees, other than taxes on our income.
6.8 Changes to pricing. On at least 30 days' notice by email and in the Service, we may change the fees, Schedule A or which features are paid. A change that adds a Qualifying Activity or makes more payment lines carry the Online Payment fee is a fee change. Each Billing Month is billed under the version of Schedule A in force when that month began. If you do not agree to a change, you may stop using the paid features or close your account before the change takes effect. You then pay only for activity before that date, under the fees in force when it happened.
6.9 Fee disputes and mistakes. You may dispute a fee within 30 days of the charge by emailing hello@boardandstable.com and identifying the horse, payment, event payment or Billing Month in question. We will provide the recorded evidence for each disputed item (Schedule A, section A6) and correct any error. If an activity was recorded by mistake, such as on the wrong horse or on a duplicate record, tell us within 30 days of the charge and we will remove it. We correct errors and remove mistakes by a credit or refund. The closed statement itself is not recomputed.
6.10 Refunds of our fees. Except as stated in sections 6.2 and 6.9 or where the law requires otherwise, fees are non-refundable.
7. Your payment method, charges and the day-46 pause
7.1 Payment method from day 46. From the day after your free period ends (day 46, unless we extend it), a card or bank account on file is required to keep using paid features. An owner adds it on the Payment method page in Settings. Before you save a method, the page shows the date of your first possible charge and, from Nov. 1, 2026, your running statement.
7.2 Reminders. We will remind you by email and in the Service on days 30, 40, 44 and 45 of your free period, and tell you when paid features pause. If we extend your free period, these reminders count back from its new last day. No reminders are sent once a payment method is on file. We will not pause paid features for a missing payment method unless we have sent you all four reminders. If one was missed, the pause waits until it has been sent and at least 5 days have passed. A pause may start later than the first day it is allowed, never earlier.
7.3 Authorization. An owner gives this authorization on the Payment method page, where the same text is shown and its version is recorded:
By saving this payment method, you authorize Spur7 LLC, doing business as Board and Stable, to charge it after Month Close on or after the 1st of each month for the Board and Stable Pro fees on your closed statement for the month just ended, and for the fees on any earlier closed statement that is still unpaid, as set out in the Pro Terms of Service and Schedule A. The amount varies with your usage. From Nov. 1, 2026, you can see your running total in Settings at any time. This authorization continues until you remove the payment method. If you close your account, it continues until the fees for activity before closure, including the Billing Month in which you close, are paid. Removing it does not cancel fees already incurred, and we may charge any payment method you add later for them. For a bank account, you also authorize these debits through the ACH network under the bank debit authorization shown on this page. We charge a bank account no earlier than 10 days after we email you the closed statement. To dispute a charge, email hello@boardandstable.com within 30 days.
Charges are processed by Stripe. Your Facility is set up as a billing customer of Board and Stable in Stripe for this purpose.
7.4 Pause, not lock-out. Subject to section 7.2, if you have no payment method on file after your free period ends, the paid features in section 5.4 pause until you add one. While paused:
- invoices you already sent can still be paid by your boarders and customers, payment links and event registration pages already created keep working, and autopay charges on invoices already sent go through. Sending new invoices and creating new payment links pause, including invoices the Service would otherwise create automatically, such as monthly board, schedule and security deposit invoices;
- care logging in the dashboard and in the staff app pauses, and the staff app shows a pause message instead of the check-off buttons;
- your staff can still see horses, stalls, feed plans and tasks. Only recording new care pauses;
- text messages to owners and staff pause;
- the features in section 5.3 keep working; and
- your records are never locked. You can view everything already recorded and get an export of it.
Fees for activity while no payment method is on file remain due. When you add a payment method, we may charge it for any closed statement that is still unpaid. Fees for the current Billing Month are charged after its Month Close. Adding a payment method ends the pause.
7.5 Failed charges. If a charge fails, Stripe retries it and we email you. Paid features keep working while it retries. If the balance is still unpaid 14 days after the first failed attempt, paid features pause as described in section 7.4 until it is paid. Your records are never locked. Unpaid fees remain due.
8. Payments your boarders and customers make to you
8.1 Stripe. Payment processing is provided by Stripe, Inc. To accept payments through the Service you must open a Stripe account connected to the Service and agree to Stripe's terms for that account, including the Stripe Services Agreement, as Stripe updates them. We share information with Stripe to open and maintain your account.
8.2 You are the merchant. You are the merchant of record for every payment your boarders and customers make to you through the Service. Funds move from the payer to your Stripe account and then to your bank. We never hold your funds. We are not a bank, money transmitter or escrow agent.
8.3 Refunds and disputes. You are responsible for your invoices, refunds, chargebacks and disputes, and for any amounts Stripe recovers from you. Treatment of our 2% platform fee on refunds and disputes is in section 6.2. Treatment of the card fee on refunds is in section 9.2.
9. Card fee (surcharge)
9.1 Your fee, your responsibility. You may add a card fee to credit card payments your boarders and customers make to you. You are the merchant. You are responsible for the card fee complying with the law and the card network rules that apply to you.
9.2 How the card fee works. When the card fee is on for your Facility:
- it applies to credit cards only, never to debit or prepaid cards, and only to invoice payments. It never applies to Quick Pay or event payments;
- it equals Stripe's standard processing cost on that payment (2.9% plus 30 cents), and is never more than 3%, your state's limit, or the maximum Stripe allows for that card. It is not available in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine or Puerto Rico. It is limited to 2% in Colorado and Oklahoma. No card fee applies if your Facility has no state on file;
- the payer sees the fee and the total before paying, with the option to pay by bank account instead where you accept bank payments, or to cancel;
- the fee is shown separately on the receipt; and
- if you refund a payment, you must refund the card fee in full on a full refund and in proportion on a partial refund. A full refund made in Stripe includes the fee automatically. For a partial refund, you enter the fee's share yourself.
9.3 Turning it on and off. Where we make the card fee available to your Facility, you turn it on or off in Settings. Before you turn it on, you are responsible for any notice your processor or the card networks require. If your Stripe processing rate is lower than Stripe's standard rate, you must tell us before you turn the card fee on. We may turn the card fee off for your Facility, or make it unavailable, at any time, and we may require our approval before it is turned on.
9.4 Notices to the processor and card networks. With your written authorization, we may help file or confirm the notices your processor or the card networks require. We do not guarantee that any notice has been filed or accepted.
9.5 Autopay. An autopay charge carries the credit card fee only if the payer has accepted an autopay authorization that says so.
9.6 No guarantee of compliance. The limits the Service applies are a convenience. We do not warrant that they are correct or current for your business.
10. Autopay
10.1 Authorization. If a boarder or customer authorizes automatic payment, the Service charges that payer's saved payment method for your invoices, under the authorization the payer accepted. The payer receives a copy of that authorization by email when they turn autopay on. You are responsible for charging only amounts the payer has agreed to. A payer can turn autopay off in their portal, and you can turn it off for a payer. Charges already started will complete.
10.2 Notice before each charge. Before each autopay charge, the Service emails the payer the amount and the date it will be charged, at least 3 days before the charge.
For a bank account or debit card, the Service sends that notice at least 10 days before a charge that differs from the preauthorized amount or from the previous charge under the same authorization, unless the payer has selected the range option. When turning on autopay with a bank account or debit card, the payer is told of the right to 10 days' notice of every charge that varies, and may instead choose to receive 10 days' notice only when a charge falls outside a range the payer sets. The range should reflect amounts the payer can reasonably expect. The payer's choice is recorded. Within the range, the 3-day notice applies.
The Service schedules each autopay charge so these notices can be sent, so an autopay charge may be made after the invoice's due date.
10.3 Maximum amount. A payer may set a maximum autopay amount. An invoice above that amount is not charged automatically. The payer is told, and can pay it another way.
10.4 Existing autopay. An autopay authorization a payer accepted before these terms took effect covers only what it says: monthly board invoices, with no card fee or other processing fee added. Accepting these terms does not widen it. The Service makes an autopay charge for a payer only once the copy of the authorization, the notices in 10.2 and the maximum in 10.3 work for that payer. Until then, the invoice waits or is paid another way.
11. Agreements, documents and electronic signatures
You may prepare boarding agreements, releases and other documents in the Service and ask others to sign them electronically. Each signature is recorded with the signer's typed name, their drawn signature, their email, the time, and the network address and browser of the device used. The signed document is stored in the Service, where you can view it. A signer can view a document sent to them again from its signing link. A release signed through a link you share publicly can be viewed by you, and you can give the signer a copy. A release you share by link may also ask the signer for a phone number, a date of birth or confirmation that they are 18 or older, and an emergency contact. Minors never sign. A parent or guardian signs and lists the minors covered.
Electronic signatures and records created in the Service are generally valid under the federal E-SIGN Act, the Colorado Uniform Electronic Transactions Act and similar laws. Some laws add requirements for particular records, such as a consumer's specific consent to electronic records or delivery of a copy. You are responsible for meeting the requirements that apply to the documents you send. Starter templates are examples only, may not fit your state or your situation, and are not legal advice. Have your own lawyer review anything you use.
12. Messages you send
12.1 Email. The Service sends email to your owners, workers and customers from Board and Stable addresses on your behalf, including invoices, receipts, reminders, care summaries, agreements and sign-in codes. You are responsible for the content you write and for having any consent the law requires to contact the people you add.
12.2 Text messages. Text messages are sent from our number on your behalf, only to people who opted in through the Service's opt-in form. Each web opt-in is recorded with its time, network address, device and the version of the consent wording. We honor STOP and HELP, and opt-outs made by any other reasonable means. You must not re-add someone who opted out unless they opt in again. You must not require anyone to agree to receive texts as a condition of boarding, a purchase or work. Texts are subject to carrier rules and may be delayed or fail. Text messages are a paid feature (section 5.4) and are not available for Facilities outside the United States.
12.3 In-app messaging. Messages between you and your horse owners inside the Service are visible to you, your authorized users and the owner in the conversation, or, in a group conversation you create, every member of the group. Messages between you and your staff are visible to you, your authorized users and the staff in the conversation. In-app messages never generate text messages.
12.4 No abuse. Do not use the Service to send unsolicited marketing, spam, threats, harassment or anything unlawful.
13. Your data
13.1 You own Your Data. You own the information you and your users enter into the Service, including owner, horse, staff, care, training, document and billing records ("Your Data"). You grant us a license to host, copy, process, transmit and display Your Data as needed to provide and support the Service and as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not use Your Data to market to your boarders or customers.
13.2 Your responsibility. You are responsible for having the right to enter Your Data, including personal information about owners, workers, riders and others, and for giving them any notices the law requires. You decide what Your Data is collected for, and we process it for you under section 13.9.
13.3 Sharing you control. The Service lets you share care logs, photos, invoices, documents and messages with horse owners and workers, and publish selected profile information to the public Board and Stable directory. You choose what to share, subject to the My Horse defaults in section 13.4, which you can ask us to turn off.
13.4 My Horse and care summaries. The My Horse app is on by default. For new barns, meaning Facilities that join Pro after Sept. 29, 2026, the feed plan card and the message button are on by default too, and you can turn them off as described below. A horse's owner can see in My Horse the care you record for that horse. Where they are turned on for your Facility, the owner can also see the horse's feed plan and a button to message you. To turn My Horse, the feed plan card or the message button off for your Facility, email hello@boardandstable.com, and we will do so within three business days. Care summaries are off unless you turn them on in Settings. If you turn them on, horse owners receive email summaries of their horse's care. Owners can change their notification choices in their settings.
13.5 Care photos. Care photos are deleted from storage after 60 days. The care log text stays.
13.6 Export. You can view Your Data at any time while your account is open, including while paid features are paused, and you can download documents and signed agreements one at a time. On request to hello@boardandstable.com, we will produce a full export of Your Data at no charge within 30 days. We will also produce one before we close your account if you ask.
13.7 Closing and deletion. You may ask us to close your account and delete Your Data by emailing legal@boardandstable.com. Ask for your export first. We will delete Your Data within 90 days of closure, except records we must keep for payment processing, tax, disputes, billing evidence or other legal reasons, and backups that expire on their own schedule.
13.8 Security. We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections, hashed passwords, access controls and the encryption our hosting and storage providers apply. No system is perfectly secure, and you are responsible for the security of your own devices, credentials and the private links you send.
13.9 Processing personal information for you. For personal information in Your Data about your owners, customers, workers and others, you decide why it is collected and we process it on your behalf. It includes the kinds of information described in section 13.1, such as contact details, horse, care and training records, documents, messages and billing records. We process it for as long as your account is open and then as section 13.7 says. We will:
- process it only to provide and support the Service, as these terms and your use of the Service direct, or as the law requires;
- not sell it, and not use it to market to anyone or for any purpose other than providing and supporting the Service;
- make sure everyone at Board and Stable who can access it is bound to keep it confidential;
- use only the service providers listed in our Privacy Policy, under written terms that protect it at least as much as this section. We update that list before a new provider begins handling it, and that list is how we tell you. If you object to a new provider, email legal@boardandstable.com. If we cannot resolve your objection, you may close your account and take an export of Your Data (section 13.6);
- keep the safeguards in section 13.8, and tell you without undue delay if we learn of a security breach affecting it;
- give you reasonable help in answering requests from people to see, correct or delete their information, and with any data protection assessment the law requires of you;
- after your account closes, return it to you as an export or delete it, as you choose and as sections 13.6 and 13.7 say; and
- on reasonable request, and no more than once a year unless the law requires more, give you the information reasonably needed to show that we meet this section, such as answers to a security questionnaire.
Where the California Consumer Privacy Act applies, we act as your service provider for this information. We will not sell or share it, will not keep, use or disclose it outside our direct business relationship with you or for any purpose other than the Service, and will not combine it with personal information we receive from others except as that law permits. We will tell you if we can no longer meet these obligations, and you may take reasonable steps to stop and fix any unauthorized use.
This section does not cover records we keep for our own purposes: our usage and billing records under Schedule A, records of terms acceptance and payment authorizations, security and fraud-prevention logs, and your public directory listing. Our Privacy Policy describes those.
14. AI features
Some features use artificial intelligence, provided by Anthropic. They read uploaded documents (such as Coggins and vaccination records and agreements) to extract dates and fields, and read a photo of a whiteboard, a spreadsheet or pasted rows to import horses, owners, stalls and feed plans. AI output can be wrong. Review it before you rely on it. Under Anthropic's commercial API terms, content we send through these features is not used to train its models.
15. Facilities outside the United States
We do not market or sell to Facilities outside the United States. We do not charge those Facilities for the Service. The free period, fees and payment method requirements in sections 5 through 7 do not apply to them, and online payment processing, the card fee and text messages are not available to them. Everything else in these terms applies. We may change this on notice under section 6.8.
16. Acceptable use
You will not: use the Service for anything illegal; upload malware; try to access other accounts or data; scrape, copy or resell the Service; interfere with its operation; misrepresent who you are; upload content you do not have the right to use; enter false records; or use the Service to harm, harass or defraud anyone. We may remove content and suspend or close accounts that violate these terms.
17. Our property and your feedback
The Service, its design, code, templates, text and trademarks (including Board and Stable and My Horse) belong to Spur7 LLC or its licensors. We give you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your business while these terms are in effect. If you send us feedback, we may use it without obligation to you.
18. Third-party services
The Service relies on third parties, including Stripe, Twilio, Resend, Vercel, Neon, Cloudflare, Anthropic, OpenAI and Google. Their services are subject to their own terms. We are not responsible for their outages or acts, and we may change providers. Our Privacy Policy lists the providers that process personal information. This section does not limit our obligations under section 13.9, or any responsibility for our service providers that the law does not allow us to exclude.
19. Availability and changes to the Service
We work to keep the Service available but do not promise any uptime. We may change, add or remove features. We will give reasonable notice of changes that materially reduce the Service. Changes to fees and to which features are paid follow section 6.8. Changes to these terms follow section 1.3.
20. Term, suspension and termination
These terms apply while you use the Service. You may stop using the Service or ask us to close your account at any time. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if your Stripe account is closed or restricted, if we are required to by law, or if we stop offering the Service, with notice where practical. We may restrict access to your account immediately when reasonably necessary to address a security threat, suspected fraud, a risk of harm, a legal requirement or a requirement of one of our service providers. Where lawful and reasonably safe, we will still let you get an export of Your Data through a verified process. For any other closure or suspension, we will give you at least 30 days to get an export of Your Data first. Pausing paid features under section 7.4 or 7.5 is not a suspension of your account. Fees for activity before closure, including the Billing Month in which you close, remain due and may be charged to your payment method after closure. Sections 6, 7.3, 8.3, 9.1, 13, 17 and 21 through 25 survive termination.
21. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement and accuracy. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, secure or uninterrupted, that records will not be lost, or that any email, text or push notification will be delivered. Horses and equine activities are inherently dangerous. Care logs, tasks, reminders and alerts do not replace your own care of the animals, and we are not responsible for the health, safety or condition of any horse, person or property.
22. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows: (a) neither we nor our member, managers, employees or agents are liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, however caused; and (b) our total liability, together with that of our member, managers, employees and agents, for all claims relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of $100 or the fees you actually paid to Spur7 LLC for the affected service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Payment processing fees paid to Stripe are not fees paid to Spur7 LLC. These limits apply even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose. Some states do not allow some of these limits, so some may not apply to you.
Spur7 LLC is the only party to these terms with you, and the only party responsible to you under them. No claim relating to these terms or the Service may be brought against any member, manager, employee or agent of Spur7 LLC personally, except for liability that the law does not allow to be limited this way. Each member, manager, employee and agent of Spur7 LLC may rely on and enforce this paragraph.
23. Indemnity
You will defend, indemnify and hold harmless Spur7 LLC and its member, managers, employees and agents from claims, losses and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from: Your Data; your agreements and dealings with boarders, customers, workers and vendors; your messages; your payments, card fees, refunds and disputes, including fines or assessments imposed by Stripe or the card networks because of your card fee or your transactions; injury to any person, horse or property at your Facility; or your breach of these terms or the law. This does not apply to the extent a claim is caused by our breach of these terms, our gross negligence or our willful misconduct.
24. Disputes and governing law
24.1 Talk to us first. Before filing a claim, email legal@boardandstable.com with a description of the dispute and give us 30 days to resolve it.
24.2 Governing law and venue. Colorado law governs these terms, without regard to conflict of law rules. You and we consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state courts located in Larimer County, Colorado, or the United States District Court for the District of Colorado. Either party may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court where it qualifies.
25. General
These terms, Schedule A, any authorization you accept in the Service (such as the payment method authorization) and, for your directory listing and Featured placement, the Board and Stable Terms of Service are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. Our Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal information. It is a notice, not part of this agreement, except where the law requires otherwise. If these terms and the Board and Stable Terms of Service conflict about Pro, these terms control. If any part is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. We may assign these terms to an affiliate or a successor. You may not assign them without our consent. Our failure to enforce a term is not a waiver. Notices to you may be sent to the email on your account or shown in the Service. Legal notices to us go to legal@boardandstable.com or Spur7 LLC, 2519 S Shields Street, Suite 1K #757, Fort Collins, CO 80526.

Schedule A: Fee Schedule
Version 2026-10-29-v6. Applies to Billing Months beginning on or after Nov. 1, 2026, and to online payments whose checkout starts at or after 12:00 a.m. Eastern time on Nov. 1, 2026.
Summary. $5 per month for each horse you care for and each client you train in Pro, never more than $200 per barn. A horse counts in a month when you check off care for it, log care for it, add a care photo, or upload or request a document for it. A client counts in a month when you log a training session for them. Setting up routines, feed plans, training plans and your schedule is free, and so is invoicing. Online payments carry 0.5% of what is paid, taken from the payment, except on lines for a horse, and lesson lines for a client, that had care or training in the 30 days before the payment; everything on a horse's line is covered, hauling and tack included. A line with no horse carries it. Cash and check carry nothing. If a horse's payment came before its care and the horse counts later that month, we credit that fee. Event entries collected through Pro carry 0.5% from Nov. 1, 2026. None of these fees apply during your first 45 days (section 5 of the terms).
Example. Your first care check-off is Oct. 5, so your free period runs through Nov. 18. On Nov. 25 a boarder pays an invoice online with three lines: $650 board and $300 hauling, both for a horse your staff fed on Nov. 24, and $100 for a second horse with no care in 30 days. The first two lines carry nothing; the third carries $0.50, deducted from that payment. On Dec. 1, after Month Close, your card is charged $5 for each horse with a Qualifying Activity from Nov. 19 to Nov. 30, up to $200.
A1. Definitions
Facility means one barn, ranch or training operation represented by a distinct Facility record in the Service, in the time zone recorded for that Facility. Each Facility has its own account, and the Facility Cap applies separately to each Facility.
Billing Month means a calendar month in the Facility's time zone. A Billing Month closes at noon, Facility local time, on the first day of the following calendar month ("Month Close").
Active Horse means a distinct horse record in a Facility with at least one Care Activity (A3, items 1 to 5) assigned to a Billing Month. A horse record counts once per Facility per Billing Month, however many it has.
Active Client means a distinct client record in a Facility with at least one Training Activity (A3, item 6) assigned to a Billing Month, whatever horse the session was on, including a lesson horse or none. A client record counts once per Facility per Billing Month. Riders the Facility keeps as separate client records count separately; riders under one client record count once. A client's Active Client fee is separate from any Active Horse fee for their horse.
Qualifying Activity means only the events listed in A3, performed successfully in the Service, as recorded by Board and Stable's servers.
Lesson line means an invoice line the Service creates for a lesson, whether or not a horse record is attached to it. Every other invoice line is a horse line if the Facility tied it to a horse record, and a no-horse line if it did not. What a line is for does not matter: hauling, tack, a clinic fee and board are all horse lines when tied to a horse record. The tie recorded when the invoice is issued governs. Later edits to, or deletion of, the horse record do not change it.
Online Payment means a payment a boarder or customer makes to the Facility through the Service by card or bank account, including autopay charges and payment links. A payment the Facility marks as received another way, such as cash, check or a payment app, is not an Online Payment. A Quick Pay payment link is an Online Payment of one line for its full amount: a horse line if the Facility picks a horse record for the link, and a no-horse line if it picks none or enters a horse by name that is not a horse record.
Covered Line means, in an Online Payment: a positive horse line tied to a horse record with a Care Activity in the 30 days before the payment starts; or a positive lesson line whose client (the client on the invoice) had a Training Activity in those 30 days. The 30 days are measured back from the moment the payment's checkout starts, which is when its fee is set. A no-horse line is never a Covered Line.
Qualifying Payment Line means any positive line paid in an Online Payment that is not a Covered Line.
Qualifying Event Payment means a positive registration or entry payment for an event, collected through the Service, whose checkout starts at or after 12:00 a.m. Eastern time on Nov. 1, 2026.
A2. Rates
| Fee | Rate | Cap |
|---|---|---|
| Active Horse fee | $5 per Active Horse per Billing Month | $200 per Facility per Billing Month for the Active Horse fee and the Active Client fee together (the Facility Cap) |
| Active Client fee | $5 per Active Client per Billing Month | Shares the Facility Cap |
| Online Payment fee | 0.5% of the amount paid on Qualifying Payment Lines in each Online Payment | None |
| Event fee | 0.5% of each Qualifying Event Payment | None |
There is no minimum fee. The Online Payment fee is on what was actually paid: where an Online Payment pays part of an invoice, the amount paid is spread across its positive lines in proportion to their amounts. It is calculated before sales tax and any card fee. Fees are in U.S. dollars and computed in cents. The Online Payment fee and the Event fee round half up per payment and are deducted from the payment in the Facility's Stripe account when it is made. If a payment is fully refunded, we return its Online Payment fee or Event fee. On a partial refund or a disputed payment, the fee is not returned.
A3. Qualifying Activities
Care Activities (each makes the horse an Active Horse), when they succeed:
-
A task for the horse marked complete. A feeding checked off for the horse, such as an AM feed routine, is a task marked complete. A task marked "Not today" is not.
-
A care log entered for the horse, including the care log a completed task creates.
-
A photo attached to a care log for the horse.
-
A document uploaded for the horse by the Facility.
-
A document requested for the horse by the Facility. The request counts in the Billing Month it is sent. Reminders about it, and the owner's reply, do not count. Training Activity (makes the client an Active Client), when it succeeds:
-
A training session logged for a client, on any horse or none.
"Qualifying Activity" means a Care Activity or a Training Activity.
A4. Not Qualifying Activities
Creating or editing a horse record; assigning a stall, pasture or turnout area; scheduling a task or building a task template; setting up a care routine; entering or editing a feed plan or a Care Card line; creating a training plan or using the drill library; booking a lesson or holding one without logging a training session; issuing, sending or collecting an invoice (Online Payments carry the Online Payment fee instead); viewing any record; sending a message or announcement to an owner (the care log or photo behind an automatic alert or care summary is a Qualifying Activity; the alert or summary itself is not); a veterinary, farrier or other provider visit recorded in the Service; a health record entered by hand; an agreement or waiver; a document a horse owner uploads through the Facility's portal or an onboarding link, whether or not it answers a request; a reminder about a document request; and anything Board and Stable enters for the Facility at its request, including free onboarding under section 5.2 of the terms.
A5. Timing and the free period
A Qualifying Activity is assigned to the Billing Month in which Board and Stable's servers receive it. An activity recorded on a device while offline is instead assigned to the Billing Month in which the device recorded it, provided the servers receive it before that month's Month Close and the device's recorded time falls in the Billing Month just before the month of receipt. After Month Close, receipt time governs.
Qualifying Activities during the Facility's free period are never billed, and Online Payments and Qualifying Event Payments whose checkout starts during the free period carry no fee. Qualifying Activities during the free period still count toward the 30 days in the Covered Line definition. In the Billing Month in which the free period ends, a horse or client is active only through a Qualifying Activity after the free period ends, and if it is, the full fee applies for that month. Fees are not prorated: a Qualifying Activity on the last day of one Billing Month and another on the first day of the next makes the horse or client active in both.
A6. Reversal, mistakes and evidence
A Qualifying Activity, once recorded, is not reversed by a later edit, uncheck, deletion or void, with one exception: unchecking a completed task on its due date (Facility local time) removes that completion, and the care log without a photo that it created automatically, as Qualifying Activities. Repeating the same activity on the same record does not count again. An activity we fail to record is not charged. If an activity was recorded by mistake, such as on the wrong horse or on a duplicate record, tell us within 30 days of the charge and we will remove it by a credit or refund (section 6.9 of the terms). The closed statement is not changed.
Board and Stable records each Qualifying Activity at the time it succeeds, with the Facility, the horse or client record, the activity type, the user who performed it, the server time, the assigned Billing Month and the version of this Schedule. That record is kept separately from the operational record it describes and is the basis for the Active Horse and Active Client fees, for the Covered Line test and for any dispute. For each Online Payment we record which lines were Covered Lines and why.
A7. Statement
Beginning Nov. 1, 2026, the Facility can see its running statement in the Service at any time during each Billing Month. It shows which horses are Active Horses and which clients are Active Clients so far, the first Qualifying Activity that made each one active, the Online Payment fees taken so far with the payment and lines each came from, and the running total. It also shows the Event fees taken and any credit under Schedule A, section A11. At Month Close the statement is frozen and becomes the basis of the Active Horse and Active Client charge. Only horses and clients shown on the statement before Month Close are charged. A frozen statement is never recomputed, even if the software or this Schedule later changes.
A8. Cap
The Facility Cap applies per Facility per Billing Month to the Active Horse fee and the Active Client fee together, Active Horse fee first, never to the Online Payment fee or the Event fee. Once the two reach $200 in a Billing Month, further Active Horses and Active Clients carry no fee that month.
A9. Transfers and duplicates
A horse record moved between two Facilities in one Billing Month may be an Active Horse in each. Duplicate records for one animal in one Facility each count. You are responsible for merging duplicates, and A6 covers activity recorded on a duplicate by mistake.
A10. Not covered by this Schedule
Card and bank processing fees are charged by Stripe to the Facility on each payment and are not Board and Stable fees. The 2% platform fee described in section 6.2 of the terms applies only to payments started before 12:00 a.m. Eastern time on Nov. 1, 2026 and is not part of this Schedule. Paid Featured placement in the directory ($9 per month) is governed by the Board and Stable Terms of Service.
A11. Credit for fees on payments made before care
A line that carried the Online Payment fee because its horse had no Care Activity in the 30 days before the payment starts is credited that fee if the same horse becomes an Active Horse in the Billing Month of the payment. A lesson line that carried the fee because its client had no Training Activity in those 30 days is credited in the same way if the client becomes an Active Client in that month. A payment made during the free period carries no fee and no credit.
The credit is the fee taken on that line. It shows on the running statement as it arises. At Month Close it comes off the Active Horse fee and the Active Client fee on the statement, never below $0. Anything left over is returned to the Facility's Stripe account after Month Close and is not carried forward. If a payment is fully refunded, its Online Payment fee is returned under section A2 and is not credited again.
